What is JOB?

JOB is a plugin for your Uniface applications that allow them to execute processes at the clients. When the client screensaver stands up, the PC begins to work for the server. It works for the server executing Uniface services to free the server load. This means that the server capacity feeds itself with the capacity of the clients not used.

How does JOB work?

JOB has two parts:

• Server side - It receives new tasks from the application. It also distributes the tasks between the PCs with screensaver on. All the tasks must be asynchronous, for example: statistical calculus, user behavior analysis.
• Client side - When a timeout without using the computer is reached, the client notifies to the server its availability. Then it waits for orders, executes tasks and notifies to the server its state.
